    Leia o trecho do texto Queda que as mulheres têm para os tolos, de Machado de Assis, para responder à questão.

         O homem de espírito é o menos hábil para escrever a uma mulher.
        Quando se arrisca a escrever uma carta, sente dificuldades incríveis. Desprezando o vasconço da galanteria, não sabe como se há de fazer entender. Quer ser reservado e parece frio; quer dizer o que espera e indica receio; confessa que nada tem para agradar, e é apanhado pela palavra. Comete o crime de não ser comum ou vulgar. As suas cartas saem do coração e não da cabeça; têm o estilo simples, claro e límpido, contendo apenas alguns detalhes tocantes. Mas é exatamente o que faz com que elas não sejam lidas, nem compreendidas. São cartas decentes, quando as pedem estúpidas.

         O tolo é fortíssimo em correspondência amorosa, e tem consciência disso. Longe de recuar diante da remessa de uma carta, é muitas vezes por aí que ele começa. Tem uma coleção de cartas prontas para todos os graus de paixão. Alega nelas em linguagem brusca o ardor de sua chama; a cada palavra repete: meu anjo, eu vos adoro. As suas fórmulas são enfáticas e chatas; nada que indique uma personalidade. Não faz suspeitar excentricidade ou poesia; é quanto basta; é medíocre e ridículo, tanto melhor. Efetivamente o estranho que ler as suas missivas nada tem a dizer; na mocidade o pai da menina escrevia assim; a própria menina não esperava outra coisa. Todos estão satisfeitos, até os amigos. Que querem mais?

    TEXTO I

    “Meia Pata” inicia um movimento literário criado pelo autor, Ricardo Dantas, denominado de Bioarte. A Bioarte louva os verdadeiros artistas. Os indígenas, que mesmo diante do preconceito, da dor de presenciarem suas terras sendo devastadas, seguem firme na luta pela autenticidade de seus direitos. Os extrativistas, como os seringueiros, massacrados, porém resistentes, que com sangue escorrendo das bandeiras, venceram a opressão e conquistaram uma vida digna. O sertanejo agricultor, que não desiste de rachar o solo cristalizado pela seca, e com mãos e orgulho calejado, segue em frente sem fraquejar. E por fim a Natureza, que compadecida, presencia árvores frondosas, literalmente milagres que fornecem o suporte para milhares de formas de vidas, serem ceifadas, levando para a tumba toda a rede ecológica. A Bioarte exalta a biodiversidade, a pluralidade social e principalmente as interações ecossistêmicas entre cultura e arte [...]

    Esse caráter regional ressaltado pelo romance incorpora questões de formação de identidade e raízes históricas de tradições na formação de um povo. A leitura reflexiva dessa obra desenvolve a capacidade de análise e interpretação de textos. Também estimula a identificação das características dos gêneros literários e da estilística. Ao levar o leitor a acompanhar a narrativa de outra pessoa, portanto a partir de outra perspectiva, valoriza a formação dos próprios critérios no leitor.

    Sobre a obra “Meia Pata”, de Ricardo Dantas, avalie:

    I - Daniel Silva, protagonista, com uma equipe de trabalhadores formada com mão de obra local, dentre a qual está o velho caçador Xereta e seu filho Ronaldo, um experiente rastreador florestal, adentram a mata fechada, muito traiçoeira e perigosa, visando estudar a biodiversidade amazônica;

    II - É um romance autobiográfico que retrata a saga de Daniel Silva e as conquistas entre os povos indígenas de Roraima, consagradas após o casamento com a indígena Iara Parente, uma linda indígena da etnia Wapixana;

    III - A obra descreve minuciosamente a experiência vivida por Daniel Silva, na região mais isolada e peculiar da Amazônia, e as vivências de um romance inusitado e místico com Iara Parente, uma linda indígena da etnia Macuxi, além de um embate por luta de território e respeito com a maior predadora da floresta, a onça-pintada;

    IV - O argumento do romance “Meia Pata” se passa em Roraima, no final da década de oitenta e conta a saga do biólogo Daniel Silva, que objetiva estudar a maior diversidade ecológica do planeta.

    AMOR PRA QUEM ODEIA

    (Eli Macuxi)

    O amor campeia, que seja.

    Quando tuas penas partirem, asas

    Quando novas nuvens surgirem, casas

    Quando nossos corpos rugirem, brasas

    E nem demônios nem igrejas

    Nem inveja que vareja

    Na cabeça malfazeja

    De quem julga sem amar

    nos farão parar!

    Porque não entendo nem aceito o discurso do ódio contra o amor.

    I - “Trouxera livros de matemática para mim e roupa para Domingas”. Os termos “livros” e “roupa” são objetos diretos; enquanto o pronome “mim” e o substantivo “Domingas” são objetos indiretos;

    II - “(…) eu tentava dizer que as coisas não têm alma nem carne”. A oração destacada é subordinada substantiva objetiva direta - exerce função de objeto direto do verbo dizer;

    III - “Uma carta de Yaqub, pontual, chegava de São Paulo no fim de cada mês.” Ambos são adjuntos adverbiais;

    IV - “Os filhos haviam se intrometido na vida de Halim,” A concordância do verbo haver está em desacordo com a norma culta, fazendo a correção ficaria: “Os filhos havia ...”;

    V - “(…) Omar cometia o erro de trair a mulher que nunca o havia traído. Zana se remexeu na cadeira ao ver o filho aproximar-se de Dália…” todos os termos destacados exercem função de sujeito.

    Leia os fragmentos retirados da obra Terras do sem fim de Jorge Amado, em seguida, observe os termos destacados e a análise feita em cada uma das proposições:

    I - “(...) Ester ficou com os avós que lhe faziam todas as vontades, que a mimavam”. A flexão do verbo “fazer” está perfeita, concordando com o sujeito “os avós”;

    II - “escapou da justa condenação devido à chacina de advogados que desmoralizavam a profissão, mas não escapou da condenação pública”. O uso da crase na expressão “à chacina” está de acordo com a norma culta; bem como a ausência da crase na expressão “a profissão” também está correta em função da transitividade do verbo “desmoralizar”;

    III - “O vestido é meu, foi o senhor quem me deu”, a colocação do pronome “me” não está de acordo com a norma culta. O correto seria “... o senhor quem deu-me”, não há nenhum elemento atrativo para a posição proclítica, ou seja, o pronome antes do verbo;

    IV - “Passo a passo até alcançar o caminho mais largo, onde são menos numerosos os espinhos e os atoleiros.” A crase é obrigatória na expressão “passo à passo”;

    V - “O menino que assistia ao júri, saíra pela mão do pai, mas já estava na porta da sala quando o meirinho badalou a grande sineta chamando os advogados e os escrivães.” A regência do verbo “assistir” está de acordo com a norma culta, ou seja, assistir com sentido de “presenciar” é transitivo indireto e exige o emprego da preposição “a”, portanto, a expressão “ao júri” está corretíssima.

    ‘500 Years of Brazil’s Discovery’
    By GAIL FINEBERG

       Our territory was already inhabited before 1500 A.D., by a large population, estimated in the 1500s at 3 million Indians, with their own communal organization and traditions.
       The encounter occurred on April 22, 1500, when Pedro Álvares Cabral, commander of a Portuguese armada, sighted the South American mainland and staked a claim for Portugal.
       The encounter occurred on April 22, 1500, when Pedro Álvares Cabral, commander of a Portuguese armada, sighted the South American mainland and staked a claim for Portugal.
       The Portuguese found Brazil attractive, as did the French, Dutch and Spanish. The first agreement between Spain and Portugal on frontiers was not reached until 1750.
       The Jesuits were enterprising, and their missionary efforts spread throughout the country between 1625 and 1759.
       The religious influence was responsible for an extraordinarily beautiful Brazilian baroque architecture.
       Thoughts of independence began to take root in the late 18th century. Revolutionary events in Europe had a profound effect on Brazil. Napoleon’s invasion of Portugal prompted the Portuguese prince regent, Dom João, to move the Portuguese court to Brazil in 1808.
       Brazil matured quickly as the seat of the Portuguese empire. The prince opened Brazilian ports to trade with friendly nations, including Great Britain, and also government offices in Rio de Janeiro, a supreme court, a bank, the royal treasury, mint, printing office, a national library with holdings from the Portuguese National Library and other academic institutions.
       With the death of Portugal’s queen, Maria I, in 1816, the regent became King João VI. He returned to Portugal in 1821 to contain a revolution there and appointed his son, Dom Pedro, as regent in Brazil. Dom Pedro refused orders a few months later to return to Lisbon, established a legislative assembly in São Paulo and proclaimed Brazil’s independence from Portugal on Sept. 7, 1822.
       Dom Pedro I was crowned emperor in 1822, but after a troubled reign marked by conflict with the assembly, he abdicated in favor of 5-year- old Dom Pedro de Alcântara in 1831. For the next nine years, Brazil seethed with civil unrest until both houses of parliament declared the young regent had reached majority in 1840. The Brazilian Empire lasted to 1889.
       Dom Pedro II proved to be an enlightened leader. Brazil grew and prospered under his reign, and the country enjoyed a great deal of stability. (The country’s population grew from 4 million to 14 million; railroads built 5,000 miles of track; and public revenues and products multiplied.) However, support for a republic grew, and the empire finally collapsed in 1889, when the royal family went to exile in Europe.
       The country’s 19th century economy relied on slave-based agriculture. Slave trade with Africa did not cease until 1853. At the dawn of the 21st century, Brazil, with an economy that is the eighth largest in the world, is a contributor of music, painting, literature and other arts to the world’s culture.

    Roraima is an interesting mountain located in the Guiana Highlands. The peak actually shares the border with Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana, but the mountain is almost always approached from the Venezuela side. The Brazil and Guyana sides are much more difficult. The mountain’s highest point is Maverick Rock which is at and on the Venezuela side (thought some other sources may differ on this).
    Mount Roraima was the first of the Tepuis to be climbed and the credit goes to English botanist Everard Im Thurn on an expedition sponsored by the Royal Geographical Society in 1884. It was his subsequent lectures in England that are believed to have inspired Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s book ‘The Lost World’

    The Jurutauí Legend

    Jurutauí was the bird with the most beautiful song in the forest and, because it sang so melodiously, it was truly admired by the other birds. One day Jurutauí saw the moon shining splendidly and fell deeply in love with her. Then, to be heard by its muse, it flew to the highest tree to sing love songs through the night, filling the forest with the most devoted sounds.

     Jurutauí couldn’t accept such a distance from its lover and flew higher and higher, trying to reach it. But the power of gravity could not be overcome. After a long struggle Jurutauí fell straight to the ground. Dizzy, it tried to recover and sing its beautiful song, but only a strident and terrible screech came from its throat and echoed through the forest. The other birds surrounded Jurutauí and mourned for the loss of the most beautiful birdsong in the forest. Now when the forest echoes with raucous and sad notes, everyone knows that it’s because Jurutauí is singing.
